The purpose of the Interlake Art Board is to support and strengthen communities in the Interlake region of Manitoba through art.
Projects and programs of the IAB enhance the quality of life for all individuals.
The IAB's long-term goal is to create a destination for art, including murals.
Murals help lead to positive community norms such as diversity, tolerance and free expression. Since visual art often requires no language, these projects can provide individuals and newcomers with a sense of unity.
Territorial Acknowledgement: The Interlake Art Board and our members live and work on Treaty 1, 2, 3, and 5 territories. We acknowledge and appreciate the past, present, and future generations of the Anishinaabe (Ojibway), Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene peoples, and the Métis Nation, as well as the Inuit people who have a strong community here in Manitoba.
